Latency and packet loss
We received notification of some network issues at one of our datacenters today, which may have been causing some clients problems over the last few days. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
Here is the message from the datacenter:
Today, Monday November 3, 2008 TeliaSonera experienced problems in terms of latency throughout the day causing heavy packet loss for some of our customers.
As TeliaSonera was unable to quickly find the origin of this problem, we decided around noon CET, to disconnect TeliaSonera from our network and route the traffic through our 3 additional carriers.
Late this afternoon TeliaSonera found that the problem was due to misconfiguration of a router and the problem was finally cured. When this report reached us, we immediately reconnected TeliaSonera.
Just for your information. Last week TeliaSonera delivered our contracted bandwidth which is 3 times the amount previously contracted.
We apologise for any inconveniences this unfortunate instance may have caused.
